Special Events in Bridgeton are sponsored by the Bridgeton Covered Bridge Association, Inc.  Please note: All shops are not opened for all events.

Bridgeton Covered Bridge:  One of 31 bridges in Parke County.  Drive yourself over the mapped covered bridge routes.  Bridgeton is on the Red and Black route.  Rockville is the starting point for these tours.

April
The Bridgeton Rendezvous

Last full weekend in April, April 23 & 24, 2022

Early 1800’s living history re-enactment with pioneer crafters at work including a blacksmith, woodworkers, spinning and knitting, and plenty of fun learning activities for the kids. Come by the 1822 Case Log Cabin and see how the pioneers cooked their meals on the hearth including chicken-on-a-string and bread baking.

Black powder muzzle loader shoots:
        Saturday 10:00 am registration starts at 8 a.m. (NEW)
        Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Bridgeton Civil War Days

Last weekend in August

Civil War Days, a two-day living history reenactment, giving visitors the opportunity to interact with the soldiers and civilians of the Civil War, getting a personal glimpse of life in the years 1861–1865.

Milling Days

Weekend after Labor Day

Oliver Evans is the Father of the American Industrial Revolution.  He designed and built the world's first automated factory.  It was a water powered flourmill and the Bridgeton Mill is patterned after his designs.  This event is scheduled near Oliver's birthday.

October
Bridgeton Covered Bridge Festival

Starts on the second Friday in October for 10 days

An estimated 1,000,000 visitors come to Bridgeton for this 10 day event.  Folks come from all over to tour the 31 Covered Bridges in Parke County, visit the many events going on in the area, see the beautiful autumn leaves, and visit the historic town of Bridgeton.

November / December
Bridgeton County Christmas

Last full weekend in November and first weekend in December

The Mill and shops will be open and full of gifts. The 1878 Barn, Collom’s General Store, and the Artisans Barn at the Mill will be open and full of vendors. Many local vendors are returning from the Covered Bridge Festival and we will have new ones as well! Kids may visit Santa in the 1822 Case Log Cabin, both Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
